The depth to which you dive depends on your level and the local conditions of the dive site. During discovery/trial dives, you will typically dive to a maximum depth of around 6m to 12m. During a beginners' certification course (e.g. PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver) you will dive to a maximum depth of 12m to 18m. If you choose to move on to a more advanced course after qualifying as an Open Water Diver, you will learn to dive to a maximum depth of 30m.
